OUR MANAGEMENT STYLE

Our management system is based on the most modern and effective management model in existence – the EFQM model. This was developed over a 20-year period in which the theories and practical applications of Deming’s TQM found a workable system. It is well known in the UK since 1994. It spread throughout Europe during the 1990’s and by 2000 was used by 52% of all public sector organizations (PricewaterhouseCoopers). At present it is used worldwide by more and more organizations and was also incorporated as the new management style of the SANDF.

The European Foundation propagates the EFQM Excellence Model for Quality Management (EFQM) as well as its national partner/sister organizations as an improvement framework that is based on 9 key performance criteria. It was designed to help organizations test themselves against robust criteria, test their strengths, determine areas for improvement, and then develop a plan to move toward improvement and excellence, as well as allowing them to measure the progress of the system.

The EFQM Excellence Model is considered as the most comprehensive and sophisticated quality improvement system in the world. It integrates very well with other quality instruments and systems, like Deming’s TQM. The key-principles or core values for success are: leadership and efficiency, development of people, involvement and satisfaction, client focus, supplier relationships, processes and measurement, continuous improvement and result orientation.
